Lights, Lights, Lights, Camera, Action....

My first Diwali - was exposed to (lot of) lights, sweets and the festive spirit. The festival of lights got off to a great start with us going for the Diwali puja in the derasar in the morning - where I went crazy ringing the bells, I thought was festival of sounds too ;) Post Puja we met with neighbors and exchanged sweets and Diwali greetings an for some reason, people kept pulling my cheeks and putting their hands on my head stroking it (Mom told me later they were blessing).

The afternoon started the events with attending Saachi's birthday party and welcoming her little brother in the world through a shower...Saachi and I really enjoyed the outdoor setting:

Next stop was Diwali party at uncle's house. Here's where I met my friends - Parv, Rian, Shayona, Aanya. We started playing with all sorts of toys and goofing around. My favorite toy was the Mickey & Minnie pillow! But the highlight of the evening was my first experience/exposure to crackers..fuljhadi watching and playing was fun!! Happy Deepavali!!

There was a lot of food that I saw displayed on the table - all uncles and aunts were heartily eating it. I tasted ras malai, gajar ka halwa, shira, rice and something else (don't remember). This was in addition to my staple diet of milk.

The next day was Hiral aunty's baby shower, which was fun too. Everyone was dressed up, in the Diwali spirit and ready to play some games. I loved watching the different color balloons and seeing them sway from side to side while sleeping in my throne.

I was even entertained by constant jingling of bangles:

All in all - a great Diwali weekend and one that I will always remember! Happy Diwali and New Year to you all! :) See you soon.....
